2nd 1 POINT LOSS IN A ROW

For the 2nd consecutive week, Hendersonville would give up a 4th quarter lead and lose by 1 point. The game would see no scores in the 1st quarter as Hendersonville was able to move the ball, but unable to get into field goal range. The COMMANDOS would strike first in the game with a 4 yard TD run by #14 Issiah Chandler. The scoring drive which saw nice runs by #3 Keion Stafford was set up by an interception by #51 JD Jordan on a ball that was knocked up in the air by Chandler giving HHS the ball at midfield. Lebanon would answer with a drive of their own that found the endzone with a 32 yard TD run. #2 Drew Hohenbrink would lead the offense down the field on the ensuing possession with a 3rd down run that gave HHS a 1st down followed with a pass for a 1st down to #25 Jacob Newton. Another 1st down run by Hohenbrink would move the chains before he connected with Chandler for a 22 yard TD reception with 7 seconds left in the half. The COMMANDOS would miss the PAT making the halftime score 13-7.



Lebanon would take the lead for the first time on the opening 2nd half drive as they busted a 53 yard touchdown run. The teams would trade punts before Hendersonville regained the lead with a 45 yard TD run by #3 Keion Stafford making the score 20-14. HHS would force a LHS punt. With the ball and a 6 point lead, HHS would begin the 4th quarter with a mistake as the Blue Devils would intercept a pass giving them the ball at the 20 yard line. A run would set up 1st and goal. The COMMANDO defense would get three stops before giving up the go ahead TD on 4th down. The PAT would put Lebanon up 20-21. Hendersonville would get a drive going with a 55 yard pass from Hohenbrink to Chandler, but after completing another pass that set up 1st and goal at the 8 yard line, a penalty would back them outside of field goal range. On 4th down, Hendersonville would throw another interception and Lebanon would be able to run out the clock.


Hendersonville is now 2-3 on the year and 1-1 in Region 4-6A games. The COMMANDOS return to Memorial Stadium next Friday to take on Independence.
